The inter varsity alumni golf tournament  was initiated in 2005 with the objectives of fostering fellowship and goodwill as well as to provide an avenue for networking amongst the participating alumni associations. The inaugural tournament was hosted by Persatuan Alumni UKM at the UKM golf course. Alumni associations of the four oldest universities – namely UM, USM, UKM and UPM  competed for the challenge trophy donated by the Minister of Higher Education. The UM team went home with it.
 
This year, the Persatuan Alumni UM hosted the 2nd tournament at the Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam on Sunday 27 August. Again they won the challenge trophy.
 
Our association sent a team of 20 players.  They all had a great time and are looking forward to hosting the next tournament. We intend to attract more varsity alumni associations to join in.
